LOS ANGELES, CA. Aug 22, 2011

BCI’s Basketball Plus Camp in Los Angeles on August 20 was a great success. Campers were inspired by our coaches and special guests, including pro player Jelani Gardner who said, “It was a real honor to help the kids and honor Sharm at the same time. It was a real Blessing to be around like-hearted people who love God. Everyone I met was so positive and supportive, I was really blown away. I could feel His hand upon the day.”

Krieger - Scheuerman's Dash Full of Faith The last time I saw Sharm Scheuerman was Aug. 23, a week before he died. He was lying in a hospital bed in the middle of his living room, high above Lower Downtown.

and who became the youngest head basketball coach in NCAA Division I history at the
age of 24, died yesterday. He was 76 years old.

Krieger - Hoops man Scheuerman has faith to make it count At the height of his chemotherapy, Sharm Scheuerman couldn't spread the word about faith or basketball, pretty much his two favorite things. So he quit the medicine. The cancer was already in his bones. The prognosis wasn't good.
